Calling All Queens Artists

The life of an artists can be financially draining- there's a reason why it's often preceded by the term "struggling". Luckily, Queens Council on the Arts is there to help! In 2008, the Queens Community Arts Fund (QCAF) awarded $253,000 to 28 individual artists and 33 non-profit organizations; a similar amount is anticipated for awards in 2009.

QCAF funds artistic projects from all disciplines, from visual arts, music, dance, literature, and theater, to photography, film, multi-media and multi-disciplinary arts, and folk arts. All artists and arts organizations residing in Queens are eligible to apply. Specific eligibility and guidelines are available at QCA’s website www.queenscouncilarts.org. Queens Council on the Arts seeks as diverse as possible a pool of applicants, reflecting not only the incredible ethnic diversity of the borough, but also the wide geographic diversity.

Application information sessions are available around Queens throughout July August and September. Visit the website for complete details on times and locations and get ready to finance that next great artistic endeavor!
